What you'll need before you call us about your tariff refund
The short answer: not much.
Most importers we work with don't have a customs department. They run a business, they import things, they pay the bill, and the rest is invisible. That's normal.
Here's everything we actually need to get started, and what's nice to have but not required.
What we need to start
Two things.
- Your business name and the country (or countries) you import from.
- A phone number we can reach you at.
That's it. With just those two pieces, we can run an initial eligibility check and tell you whether you have a refund coming.
What's nice to have, but optional
Bring these if you have them. If not, we'll pull most of it for you.
- Annual import value, rough estimate. Helps us scope the refund range on the first call.
- Your Importer of Record number (often your business EIN). Speeds up the entry pull.
- Your customs broker's name. We can coordinate directly with them if needed.
- A handful of recent customs entry numbers, if your broker shared them with you. Useful but not required.
If you don't have any of these handy, don't worry about it. We can pull everything from public records once we know your business.
What you don't need to do
A lot of importers ask us this upfront, so it's worth being clear:
- You don't need to log into anything. We handle all the federal paperwork on our end.
- You don't need to fill out forms beyond a quick two-minute intake.
- You don't need to pay anything up front. Our fee is contingent on recovery — no refund, no fee.
- You don't need to find old paperwork. We pull your entries from the public record.
What the first call looks like
Five minutes, usually. We ask a few quick questions, tell you whether your business looks eligible, and give you a rough sense of what's recoverable. If it makes sense to move forward, we explain the next steps. If it doesn't, you know fast and we don't waste your time.
No pressure. No commitment. No fee unless your refund lands.
