How the tariff refund actually works for U.S. importers

TL;DR

If you imported into the U.S. between February 4, 2025 and February 24, 2026, you likely paid tariffs the Supreme Court ruled were unlawful. Those dollars are recoverable. We do all the work and only get paid when your refund lands.

The short version

  1. You call us. Five minutes. We ask a few questions about your business and what you import.
  2. We pull your records. We look at every shipment that landed during the refund window and figure out how much you can recover.
  3. We build and submit the claim. All on our end. You don't draft anything, fill out anything, or chase anyone.
  4. The refund lands in your account. A single payment, with interest, deposited directly to your business.

That's the entire job.

You don't need to be a customs expert

Most importers we work with have never logged into a federal portal in their lives. They run a business, they import goods, they pay the customs bill, and the rest is invisible. That's normal. We were built for that.

What you need to give us:

  • Your business name and contact details
  • A rough sense of your annual import volume

That's it. If you happen to have entry numbers, your importer ID, or a customs broker's contact, even better. But none of that is required to get started.

What you can recover

The refundable tariffs appear as a separate line on each customs entry. We pull every line and confirm the exact dollar amount you can recover.

Most importers who imported during the window recover somewhere between tens of thousands and hundreds of thousands of dollars. Larger importers with heavier exposure can recover more. Smaller importers, even those at the lower end of the range, frequently have claims worth pursuing.

The refund includes interest, accrued at IRS quarterly rates from the day each duty was paid until the refund clears. That interest can be significant if you imported heavily in 2025.

What we charge

Nothing up front. Nothing if we can't recover anything for you.

Our fee is a percentage of the refund that the government pays you, taken from the refund itself. You never write us a check. If the refund is denied or pays nothing, our fee is zero.

We tell you the exact percentage in writing before we move forward. No hourly billing. No retainers.

What happens after we file

We don't hand you a packet and disappear. We monitor your claim, push reviews when needed, and stay on it until the refund hits your account. If the government comes back with questions, we handle the response.

When the refund clears, you get a single direct-deposit payment. Our fee comes out of the recovery automatically. You keep the rest.

Free eligibility review. No fee unless we get your money back.
